After a long hiatus, I am back to doing some jewelry and hope to get into some metalsmithing in the next week or so. We all know this has been a strange year and many things have called me away from the worktable, including painting and renovation on the house and furniture, writing, the election, and fighting off seasonal allergies…all of which have taken a toll on my energy levels.
I wanted to let you know also that from now on I will be only listing new items here in this shop, and will be migrating most of my remaining Etsy listings over here. I started out as an online seller on Etsy, but it has changed a great deal since I first joined it in 2008. It’s become corporate and profit-driven and the atmosphere has transformed almost completely. What used to be a friendly community of small artisans is now much more about businesses that manufacture and sell high volumes of inventory and aggressive marketing schemes, and it is taking more money from me as a seller while pushing features on me that I neither want nor need. So, for the time being I will be leaving the storefront over there as a banner and a means to direct customers here, but you’ll find everything new that I create here from here forward.
Once again, I am deeply grateful to all of you for your support—jewelry will continue to be part of my creative repertoire for the foreseeable future!
